BORIS MIHOVILOVIĆ SOKOL was born in 1957. in Srednje Selo on the island of Šolta. Since 1980. he has lived in Offenbach am Main, Germany. His first exhibition, in water colour, took place in 1983. in Frankfurt am Main. For the next several years he learned the techniques of old masters (mostly by copying Vermeer van Delft) and experimented in different techniques of egg and emulsion tempera of early Italian painters. Through gradually finding his own painting style he has returned to the technique of pure oil on canavas.His atelier is in Srednje Selo on the island of Šolta.
